Andrew Nawrocki, Principal Physiotherapist
Andrew Nawrocki is Melbourne born and bred, and is the principal founder of Moreland Orthopaedic and Sports Clinic.
Andrew completed his studies at La Trobe University and holds both a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (2002) and Post Graduate certificate in Sports Physiotherapy (2010). He commenced his career working in a private rehabilitation hospital where he specialized in post-surgical rehabilitation, hydrotherapy, chronic pain management and post trauma rehabilitation. Andrew quickly realized his passion to work in elite sport and focused his career towards this direction.
In 2003 he took up a position with the Victorian Institute of Sport (VIS) cricket academy and between 2005 & 2009 Andrew was the team physiotherapist for the Calder Cannons Football Club (TAC Cup). Here he developed a passion for injury prevention and assisting junior athletes realise there sporting dreams. In 2006 Andrew also became the Team Physiotherapist to the men’s Melbourne Tigers Basketball Club in the National Basketball League (NBL) and held this position for 3 years enjoying the success of the 2007/2008 Championship.
In 2008 Andrew commenced working with orthopaedic surgeon Mr Bernard Lynch co-founding Moreland Orthopaedic & Sports Clinic specializing further in post-surgical rehabilitation. In 2009 Andrew took on a part-time position with the Melbourne Storm Rugby League Club in the National Rugby League (NRL) which he held until March 2020. During his 11 seasons with the Storm he was again spoilt with a successful era enjoying minor Premierships (2011, 2016, 2017, 2019) and Grand Final victories in 2009, 2012 and 2017.
Over a decades work in multiple elite sports has given him a depth of experience in the areas of sports injury management, musculoskeletal injury diagnosis, high level rehabilitation, gait analysis and biomechanics, sports injury risk assessment and prevention strategies. Andrew is an extremely “hands-on Physiotherapist” and ensures all his staff pride themselves on this core principal.
Outside of Physiotherapy, Andrew enjoys spending time with his family, playing electric guitar, and watching a variety of sport from the comfort of his couch as opposed to the sidelines!
